Hello All!
This has been a crazy
week. The CCM is really nice. It feels like I've been here for either 30
minutes or a month and I can't tell which one. Mexico City is great! Flying in
was crazy just looking out the window. It is literally so densely populated I
don't know how they live. Mexicanos really love their futbol and cheap plastic
toys and tacos. It really is nice weather here. It rains every day around 5 or
6.
The first few days
were tough, but they were tough because we were all tired. In the CCM, we live
in little apartment type houses. This was previously a school. There are 5
rooms of 4 people, but we only have 10 in our casa. They are all in my
district. I'm in a room with Elder Edwards (the district leader), his companion
Elder Walker, and my companion Elder Ayer. I like everyone in my district. The
CCM is a little different than I imagined it, but I really didn't know what to
expect. MI compaƱero is from New Hampshire and we get along pretty well. The
elders and sisters here and mainly from the states and Mexico, a few chilenos,
and maybe some other Latinos, but really that's about it. So many Utahans.
There are like two Asians and a handful of black people. The rest are split
between whites and Latinos. Everyone in my district is going to Queretaro,
Tampico, or Oaxahaca Mexico, except a sister that is going to California.
Everyone here at the CCM is going to California or Mexico I swear. The classes
are good, we
are learning lots, it’s just kind of different because we don't really have structured lessons, idk it’s just kind of weird, but it’s not bad. My teacher is Hermano Gonzalez and Hermana Gutierrez. We taught Nayelli, aka hmna Gutierrez, for about a week in Spanish you can read more about it in my journal entries.

The flight down was
good, we got our seats bumped up to economy plus so we had lots of leg room. We
got to the airport and went through customs and immigration, the guy didn't
know what he was doing and so it took a while for me but i made it through. Then
we got our bags and headed towards a guy that had a sign that said ''MTC
Missionaries'' and we just drove into the ccm in about 45 minutes.
We went to the temple
this morning and it was great except that it was in Spanish and my translator
thing wasn't working so I got to learn some more Spanish. Woohoo! The ccm has
buses and it takes about 40 minutes to get there each way. It was awesome
driving through the city though. I have lots of pictures but I’m not sure I can
send them all right now. We get to listen to gen conf tomorrow and I’m
excited.
If you want, I'll
attach my journal entries and you can read through them to get more info about
my life. It is pretty exciting.
All is well here in
Mexico City. Thanks for all your support and letters! I appreciate it! I'll
send more pictures once I can get the computer to work. It feels like time is running
by and I don't have any more time to email. I'm doing good, my stomach isn't
too bad, and I am excited to get out in the field. The ccm is nice and all, but
it’s not the best.
Love you all,
Elder Rasmussen
