Anexo

Hermana Beus, wife of Elder Beus the 2nd Counselor to President Williamson, took our picture when we were teaching at the "Anexo" or the Annex. These men are in rehab for drug or alcohol addictions. In that moment we were reading in the Book of Mormon about Alma the younger.

Cool story, the baldish guy to my left accepted to be baptized. He will be released in about 2 months. Our companions in the other ward are in contact with his mom to try and teach her as well.

These guys are in there for 4 months to try and be rehabilitated. We passed by wednesday to saturday and are going to continue visiting them indefinately. They told us that we work better than the psychologists!

Week 79 - Service and Zone Conference

This was a great week! We are continuing to be blessed with a lot of new investigators and tender mercies from the Lord. This week we helped Hna Alejandra clean her store. It was tough work, but worth it. We visited her another day and she said she trusts us a lot and began to express here frustrations and feelings. I think she will be baptized soon.

We have been finding on average 6 or 7 new people each week. Sometimes we have too many people to visit. It is a blessing and a curse. Now our work is focusing on the people that will progress and that will go to church.

We also had a really inspiring zone conference this week. I learned a lot and felt inspired and motivated to keep working hard.

It has been an awesome few weeks here in Arboledas, now I hope we'll have some baptisms soon. All is well here.

Week 78 - General Conference!!!

General Conference was awesome! I really learned a lot and felt inspired and motivated. Hope you could all watch it!

This was a pretty great week! Alejandra and her family are progressing really well. I have seen that the barriers in front of her are being taken down. I have seen many tender miracles this week in my own life and in her's. 

We have been working like dogs. Lots of walking. But it has been totally worth it. I am loving the mission!

Week 77 - First week of training!

This was a pretty great week!

On thursday we went to Queretaro for a training conference with President. I learned quite a bit. It was a really good conference. 

Me and my son, Elder Flores, have been working really hard. We are finding new people all over the place. We just need to help them come to church. Why won't people just come?? It's not that hard people.

We visited a less-active sister this week. She had to send her husband to rehab for his alcohol problem. They went inactive because some member offended them. Then the hno started to drink again. Just think about the consequences of being "offended" by a poor comment. This is my advice to all of us. Don't get offended by a fellow imperfect human being. It is tough.

We are walking a lot! Every night we have tired legs and tired feet. But it has been a truly great week. I have learned a ton. The church is true!

Week 76 - Goodbye Medrano, Hello Flores

Hello!

This was a great week. I really enjoyed this change being with Elder Medrano. He has become a really great friend. I almost started to cry when he got on the bus to leave. But I am really excited to train Elder Flores, he is from Cusco, Peru. He seems like a really good guy. I am a papa!

Being with an elder that was about to go home made me think a lot about my mission. I have learned so much and have changed a ton. I am excited to continue learning and changing in these last 6 months.

I have been learning a lot in the Old Testament. My testimony in Jesus Christ has grown. It has been interesting to be able to study more about the Law of Moses and its symbols.

It has been an awesome change and I am ready and excited for this next one. All is well here in Irapuato.

Week 75 - Pretty chill week in Arboledas

Hey!

This was a really good week. It has been pretty busy. We have had a lot of appointments. We've been running from one side of our area to the other. Lots of walking. We brought Alejandra, Paulina, and Alondra to church yesterday. They are progressing quite well. I am really excited for them. They are a really good family, and have already seen many blessings of living the Gospel in their lives.

Oh and we had an Elders Quorum activity on saturday, only we showed up and Hermano Pedro, the recent convert in a wheel chair. We were pretty disappointed that no one else showed up, but I was impressed by the dedication of Hno Pedro.

All is well here in Arboledas, Irapuato. Changes are next week, and I am pretty sure I am going to train. We'll see what happens. Hope y'all have a great week!

Week 74 - Finding like crazy x2

Hey!

¡Ya terminé de leer el Libro de Mormón! Gané :)

This week was very busy. We had a lot of appointments and a lot of futures to visit. We had 12 new investigators. Another record for me. A lot of these people are really good, a few will progress I hope, a lot probably won't.

It has been a good and tiring week.  My legs are always tired by the end of the day, we walk a lot here. It is worth it. We had a really cool experience this week. We kept passing by looking for a lady named Veronica, she kept saying she was busy, but we were persistant. We passed by and she was home but she said she didn't want to change religions. We explained that that is not our purpose, and she gave us a chance. She and her husband really felt the Spirit in the lesson, it was awesome to see how they changed their attitudes. That was one of my favorite lessons I've had.

All is well here in Irapuato. It's a cool area, and a cool ward, but I kind of hope I don't stay here too long. But hope you all have a great week!
