Week 58 - Divisions in Delta

Hello!
So this week I had to "babysit", I went with Elder Aguirre to his area in Delta. It was pretty cool to work with him and to know his area a little bit. He's a good guy, but he's a norteño, so you know what that means haha
We went to Costco again... That's about all that was exciting. haha I love and hate the hot dogs. They are good, but make you feel gross afterwards haha
But the work is picking up here in Loma Bonita. We received a reference of a super cool lady named Maria del Pilar. She is already doing geneology. She came to church yesterday. I am hopeful for her. All is well here. I am happy, just have a little cold, I swear I just barely had a cold. Who knows.

Hope you all have a great week!
Love,
Elder Rasmussen

Week 58 - 2nd Change in Loma Bonita

Hello!

So we didn't have transfers. Elder Sapien and I stay the same. I want to train, but I guess that'll have to wait. I am actually very glad to stay here, I am really starting to like the ward and the area.

This week was pretty chill. Nothing new. Our investigators are just driving me insane, no one will come to church.

Today we went to the bus station and said goodbye to some missionaries. We waited for the new ones to arrive.

All is well here in Leon. I am learning a lot, everyday.

Hope you all have a great week!
Love,
Elder Rasmussen

P.S. I forgot to take pictures of my journal, I'll send them next week.

Week 57 - Zoo

Hey all!

This week was a little frustrating. We have a pretty cool family that we are teaching: Claudia and Gabriel, and their kid Tyr. They want to get baptized and sealed in the temple. But they just won't come to church! But one day they will.

Also, today we went to the Zoo. It was pretty cool. But like all zoos, it gets pretty boring after a while. They had a magic show that was pretty cool, I even got to participate in it. We then went to eat at a buffet called La Vaca, or the cow. They had a ton of different types of meats.

Also, our neighbor has a cat. Elder Gomez somehow got it inside and we scared Elder Sapien with it. Then we started to play with it. (See pictures)

I've been eating too many pancakes for breakfast and for dinner. It's all I have.

But all is going well here in Leon. We have changes next week, we'll see what will happen.

Hope you all have a great week!

Love,
Elder Rasmussen

Week 56 - 13 Months and counting!

Hello!

This was a pretty good week. We brought Flor and Claudia to church yesterday. They liked it, but were pretty burnt out by the end. I am worried that they won't want to come back. But we are starting to get a little bit of momentum. The members are warming up to us, and we are going to have more member involvement in the work.

This week was a little tough being in a trio again. The elder in the ward next to us is going to train, but his trainee is having visa troubles and hasn't arrived yet. It has been a challenge juggling two wards.

Not much new this week. We played soccer and basketball this morning at the church as a zone. That is the good thing about being super far from the rest of the missionaries, we stick together and do a lot of activites. We went to Costco again afterwards. I bought some pancake mix.

All is well here in Leon, Guanajuato. Hope you all have a great week!
Love,
Elder Rasmussen

P.S. Sorry I don't have pictures.

Week 55 - Divisions, La Loma, Queretaro

Hola!

This was a pretty good week. I went on divisions with Elder Cardenas, my trainer. It was super fun to be with him again.

We found some pretty cool people this week. A lot of people named Claudia. Two investigators and two or three hermanas in the ward. It makes the contacts a little confusing in our phone.

Today we climbed "La Loma", and at the top there is a church. We can't decide if it is abandoned, or just no one goes to it. But it was pretty cool. Then we ate pizza at Costco!

A few days ago I had to go to Queretaro for a training meeting. It was weird being in queretaro again. About 6 hours that day in busses. It was a long day. But it is the best eating american food that Hna Williamson makes.

All is going well here in Loma Bonita. I am happy. I hope you all have a great week!
Love,
Elder Rasmussen

Week 54 - P-Day in Guanajuato!

Hey,

This week was pretty chill. Not much new, not much old either. But today as a district we went to a city called Guanajuato. It is a nice place. It is very touristy, but it has a lot to see and do.

We went to the "Callejon del Beso". Not too much to do there as a missionary, but it is a cool place haha Then to the Mummies Museum. It was kinda creepy. These mummies are from this past century. They were mummified naturally. The most recent mummy was a baby that died in 2004! They have pictures on google, just search Guanajuato Mummies.

But all is well. Elder Sapien is a good guy. I am learning and loving the area. The mission is great and the Lord is full of tender mercies. I love you all. Hope you all have a great week!

Love,
Elder Rasmussen

Week 53 - Loma Bonita, ni es loma, ni es bonita

Hola!

So this was a super hard week. When I got here, we had no lessons planned for the week, so we practically spent the week contacting. We contacted about 150 people. We looked and walked and searched for people on the member list, but the majority of the members had moved, and the rest wouldn't even talk to us. So it was a blast...

But I like the ward. I didn't get to meet many people, but they are all very nice. I am getting more aquainted with the area, and it's a good place. A lot of the people are just straight up rude though.

We went to the centro of Leon today. It was pretty cool. Have a great week!

Love,
Elder Rasmussen
